The project aimed to introduce and implement key sustainable agriculture practices (SAPs), specifically composting, crop rotation, and efficient water management, to enhance soil health and crop yield while minimizing environmental impact.

Goal: Introduce sustainable agricultural practices and enhance agricultural productivity, food security, and farmers’ resilience to climate change
Objectives
- Equip participants with the knowledge and skills to adopt sustainable practices that improve soil health, conserve water, and enhance biodiversity, while also optimizing resource use and increasing crop yields
- Share knowledge and best practices to drive wider adoption of sustainable agriculture.
Activities
- Trained 11 local farmers in sustainable agricultural practices in Mzuzu.
- Established a community demonstration site for a 6 by 6 plot and 36 by 17 pfumvudza plot;
- Initiated improvements in soil quality with manure being introduced to;
- Conducted community engagement in sustainable farming;
- Purchased solar farm equipment set and acquired a 0.97 hectares (2.5 acres) piece of land bought.
